How Do I Get a Smoke Detector?
Call the Fire Department's Neighborhood Safety Hotline 434-970-3245.
What happens once I call and make a request?
Your name, address and phone number will be logged into our Request Log. CFD personnel will then contact you by telephone to schedule an appointment convenient for you to install your smoke detector(s). Due to the large number of requests, you should anticipate a 2 to 3 week time period before being contacted.  Please be patient, we are using our on-duty firefighters to install the detectors as quickly as possible.
