3/27/09 - On Friday March 27th, Moss Point Fire Chief Mike Dale and members of his department arrived in Charlottesville and received the most recent donation of a 1988 Seagrave fire engine and protective turnout clothing (both which were replaced in Cville in 2008).  Chief Dale explained that in addition to the challenges they already faced following Hurricane Katrina, the economic downturn has also added to the difficulties.  Some of the Moss Point Fire personnel continue to work out of FEMA trailers.  Chief Dale also reported that the other vehicles that the City previously donated continue to function and were a godsend.

6/20/08 - City Buildings Get AED's Installed
Over the next two months, automatic external defibrillators (AED's) will be installed in most City-owned buildings, with a focus on those buildings having the highest volume of public and employee traffic.  The red AED's are located in un-locked white cases with see-through doors and are being placed in visible locations with clear signage. The AED's are part of the Charlottesville Cares program begun by City Council in 2006, seeking to provide the highest level of well-being to citizens and employees alike. If anyone has questions, they may contact Linda Johnson at johnsonl@charlottesville.org, or at the Fire Department at 434-970-3240.
